The Springville Tigers defeated Moody’s Blue Devils in two games to win this year’s county baseball tournament. The Tigers took a 5-0 lead in the first inning of the championship game before Moody rallied to claim the lead by the end of the fifth. Springville dominated the seventh, pulling out an 11-6 win. “Even finishing second, I was real proud of our young men for the way they came back and battled to the end,” said Moody coach Steven Seahorn. The Tigers host Leeds for a double header at 4:30 p.m. today, while the Blue Devils host Mountain Brook.
