Priding itself on being “one of the South’s fastest growing communities,” the Moody Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) means business.

Headed up by MACC Executive Director Andrea Machen, a team of MACC directors helps make the visions of the city become a reality.

Randy Smith, the first chamber president, along with several prominent businessmen and women started MACC in 2003. Working together to promote the city of Moody, MACC helped Moody became a thriving area for business and industry.

Now with more than 100 members, Machen and her team of directors makes it their mission to make the Moody area “an even better place to live, work, play and raise a family by promoting growth and economic stability.”

At last week’s monthly chamber luncheon, four new directors were inducted into the MACC board. These directors are Chad Camp with Lovejoy Realty, Sheryl Mulvehill of Village at Cook Springs, Liz Barrick from Fowler Insurance and Stokes Skellie with Community Presbyterian Church.

Thanking chamber members for voting, Machen said, “You’ve chosen a great group.”

Looking forward to serving on the board and offering new ideas to the chamber, Mulvehill said, “This is a wonderful group of people who can make a lot of things happen. We will work hard to continue to generate business in Moody and keep it growing.”

Camp is eager to cultivate his relationships throughout the area.

“Being on the chamber is all about furthering relationships. My top priority is this community,” said Camp.

Constantly delivering on its mission of “embracing commitment for growth and development of each individual or enterprise within our community and striving to meet the needs of our growing community through dedication and commitment,” the MACC continues to put community first through its leadership.
