COUNSELING:

For counseling & to talk with someone about the storm night & events following the storms: Please call the St. Clair County EMA at 205-884-6800, or after hours call Central Dispatch at 205-594-3333.

 

TRANSPORTATION:

St. Clair County Public Transportation is offering assistance (buses) – call 338-1352.

  • Individuals should call to arrange for time, place where they need to go & be picked up, etc.

 

DONATIONS:

The BIGGEST need from the public is financial donations for long-term recovery. Suggested organizations to send donations to are:

  • American Red Cross

    • You can also text Red Cross (text 90999) to donate $10.00 – after you confirm your donation, you will receive a text & will be offered the option to specify your gift to support disaster relief to help those affected by tornadoes.
    • Financial donations can also be taken to the Red Cross Office in Pell City behind the courthouse (884-1221, 1616 Cogswell Avenue)
  • St. Clair County Baptist Disaster Relief Team(594-5173)

    • Has established a “Rebuild Shoal Creek Fund” – there is a pastor in charge of this planning committee, 100% of all funds will be used in designated area (no administrative fees)
    • Cash/check donations can be sent to St. Clair County Baptist Association (P.O. Box 160, Ashville, AL 35953)        

      • Make checks out to St. Clair County Baptist Disaster Relief
      • Make sure to earmark donations for disaster relief or church feeding

DEBRIS CLEAN-UP ASSISTANCE & VOLUNTEERS FOR UNINCORPORATED AREAS:

  • Call if you need assistance with moving debris on private property
  • Call if you want to volunteer to help move debris
  • The phone will be manned from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 7 days a week

    • Answering machine will collect info if someone calls after hours
  • Can also go to the St. Clair County Department of Transportation office (31588 Hwy 231, Ashville) to request assistance or to sign up to volunteer.

 

D-SNAP (FOOD STAMPS):

New Hope Baptist Church– May 18 – 21, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (75 Cogswell Avenue, Pell City) – St. Clair County residents can apply for D-SNAP assistance

  • Distribution dates will be organized by last name:
