Severe weather threatening state today

- There is a threat of severe storms, though it will be less for St. Clair than in northern parts of the state.
There is a threat of severe thunderstorms, including tornadoes and damaging winds across all of central Alabama. The area with the greatest severe weather and tornado threat is roughly from the cities of Millport, Birmingham and Anniston northward.
The threat of severe storms may begin as early as 5 am in the western counties, and may last as late as 6 pm in the southeast. The storms are expected to be at their peak strength between now and 3 pm.
Conditions will also be breezy on Monday, with a few gusts of 30 to 35 mph likely.
