- Card party attendees peruse silent auction items.
This year’s Pell City Library Guild Card Party, held last week, was a triumph for raising needed money, organizers said Tuesday. The net proceeds from funds raised was $5,300. About 200 people bought tickets and attended. Many played card games, Scrabble or dominoes; but a lot of folks came for the silent auction, the grand prize raffle or lunch and to see all their friends.
“Bottom line, the Card Party was a great success and a lot of fun for
Pell City people who value their library,” said Holland Powell, the event’s publicity chairman.
