A Moody man was arrested last week after being connected to two separate burglaries, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department.
Wesley Shannon Burton, 34, was arrested by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department on Sept. 28 during a routine traffic stop. According to Investigator Bart Lonnergan, nine items were found in the vehicle that linked Burton to two separate burglaries in the Wolf Creek Road and Highway 174 area during the latter part of September.
Upon further investigation, eight more items believed to be stolen were recovered from his home.
Lonnergan said Burton appears to have been working alone, and targeted houses at random.
Burton is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, which is a felony. His first court appearance is Nov. 2.
