Ragland suffers first loss, Springville to host homecoming

Ragland’s Purple Devils visit St. Bernard at 7 p.m. Friday, hoping to rebound from their first loss of the season.

Gaylesville defeated Ragland, 6-0, last week, dropping the Purple Devils to 4-1. They remain undefeated in Region 6 standings.
Nick Daniels was the leading rusher for Ragland, gaining 73 yards on seven carries. Kijana Lindsey caught four passes from John Arnold for 33 yards.

The Springville Tigers host Jacksonville for homecoming at 7 p.m. Friday. The 1-4 Tigers look to improve from their 55-13 loss to Pinson Valley last week.
Brandon Gilliland, who completed seven passes for 37 yards, scored the Tigers’ first touchdown against the Indians, with their other score coming from Shawn Gipson on a four-yard run.
Demarcus Tremble was Springville’s leading rusher with 95 yards, and Jacob Gibson caught four passes for 33 yards.
