St. Clair County Troop leaders needed

The Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama help more than just young girls. Our volunteers take home critical skills that can help them as well, such as management, event planning and public speaking. Through partnering with girls, volunteers can learn how to take better care of themselves and their families.

We have many types of volunteer opportunities that involve direct or indirect interaction with girls. You could volunteer to be a troop leader or even an adventure specialist. We have volunteers who w at one of our six campsites and some work with product sales. There are also opportunities to volunteer at one of our five offices.

One leader says what she likes most is working with the girls and the friendships with other leaders.

We always welcome volunteers for any department in St. Clair County. However, in Odenville we especially need new troop leaders for the Junior (grades 4-5) and Cadette (grades 6-8) levels; and in Moody we are looking for troop leaders to help recruit and begin new troops. In Leeds we are looking for volunteers to help with existing troops and begin new ones.

Becoming a volunteer is easy and training is provided-most at no cost to the volunteer! Just visit our website at www.girlscoutsnca.org and go to the Volunteer page. There you can find more information about different opportunities and a printable application. No previous Girl Scout experience is necessary.
