Still time to enter Saturday’s benefit fishing tournament

- Fishermen tie off before the weigh in at last year's St. Clair Republican bass fishing tournament. This year's tournament, which raises money for college scholarships for high schoolers in the county will feature $10,000 in prizes and monies for participants.
The 14th Annual St. Clair Republican Party Bass Fishing Tournament is Saturday at Lakeside Landing in Pell City. Boats will launch at first safe light. You can register up to Saturday morning. The cost to enter is $150 per boat. The first 20 places pay and first prize is $2,000. There will be $10,000 in money and prizes awarded.
St. Clair GOP chairman Joey Stevens said that the St. Clair Republicans are looking forward to raising money for deserving high school students in the county and to be able to provide needed money to them to advance their education. “That’s just the kind good folks we are,” he said. There will be a cookout during the event for those on shore and the weather calls for a beautiful day to be on the lake
“We’re excited and can’t wait to get out there Saturday,” Stevens said.
