Recently, 44 of the fourth grade students at Eden Elementary were selected to take part in Duke University’s Talent Identification Program (TIP).
The students were chosen based on their scores on the SAT/ARMT/OLSAT given during their third grade school year in the spring of 2009.
Students scoring in the 95th percentile and above in any area of the SAT were chosen. Students could also be selected if they scored a 4 on the ARMT, which put them in the “exceeds standards” category on the Alabama Reading and Math Test. They were also chosen if they scored 125 or above on the OLSAT (Otis-Lennon School Ability Test). The students who choose to participate will receive various honors and opportunities for recognition. They will get to participate in online enrichment, receive exclusive academic publications, as well as opportunities to compete for prizes and additional recognition.
