Last week Ragland put the hurt on Jefferson Christian as they won 59-15 in an away game to put them at 2-0 so far this season.
The Purple Devils got off to a healthy 23-11 lead by the end of the first and were up by double at the half, leading 36-18.
The score was 51-32, Ragland by the close of the third and the Purple Devils put 24 more on the board before the close.
“This was another good road win for us,” Head coach Andy Eden said. “I was proud of the way we were able to close them out after their comeback in the second half.”
Ragland 58, Ohatchee 55
In their first game of the season, the Ragland Purple Devils defeated Ohatchee 58-55.
Eden said that the game was a good first win for the Purple Devils. “We could have done a better job in the second half in all areas. However, we were able to pull it out in the end.”
By the end of the first period Ragland was winning 15-7. They commanded an eight-point lead by halftime with the score standing at 26-18. By the end of the third, Ohatchee had edged to 34-38 with Ragland still in the lead, but the Purple Devils took home the victory.
The point leaders in that game were J.T. Caldwell, with 19 points, four rebounds and one steal; Jameil Brock had 12 points, five rebounds and five steals. Mason Sanders had six rebounds and seven points with two steals; Jamarcus Embry pulled five off the glass, had two steals and seven points and Nick Kay had four assists, three steals and scored eight points.
